Kenya is where the word "SAFARI" comes from and is undoubtedly one of the most famous of all safari destinations in the world.
Situated right on the equator, on the Eastern coast of Africa, it hosts an incredible variety of habitats and cultures, geography and history. It is one of the few places in the world where you can find snow-capped mountains, tropical forests, open savannahs, hot deserts, rift valley lakes and tropical beaches all within one country.
Come to this adventurer's paradise, the land of never-ending opportunities for the active traveller. Climb to the mighty peak of Mt Kenya, enjoy bush biking in the undiscovered parts of the country or horseback safaris. Hit the road and cross the African plains and mountains on an off road dirt bike or meet the predators of the sea at a close range with a under water safari. Enjoy a rafting on the excellent rapids of the Tana River.
Kenyan people are renowned for their warmth and hospitality, traits which span the many cultures found there.
Despite the variety of climate conditions found in Kenya the temperatures remain warm all year-round, with two main rainy seasons; the long rains? fall in March to May and the short rains in October to December.
Kenya is a diverse country, with many different cultures represented. Notable cultures include the Swahili on the coast, pastoralist communities in the north, and several different communities in the central and western regions. Today, the Maasai culture is well known, due to its heavy exposure from tourism although it's only a minor tribe.
